Back!
It wasn't that bad.. If you didnt count the fact that I got a rejection online, lost my camera, and got arrowed for every piece of work that comes..
But sincerely, Taiwan is a great place! There's so much sky, because the view isn't always blocked by high rise apartments and office buildings. The clouds seem lower too, because somewhere in the horizon there's more or less a chance to see a mountain where its peak is among the clouds. It can be really hot, but its duely compensated with the frequent winds and breezes.
The service here, I daresay isn't very different from that in Singapore. You get your fair share of promoters not giving a hoot, or being too friendly, and standing behind you like a bodyguard and breathing down your neck as you browse for clothes and such. But all in all, they are definitely friendlier, and the girls.. more presentable i guess..
Not that I am insinuating that girls back home are of a lower standard. But it's just that they really know how to doll themselves up. I saw one girl wearing a normal Giordano T-shirt(the cheer me up one) but making it look really good because she had wild hair and denim skirts and boots to match.
And they really put much care in looking good. Virtually no girl I see is without make up and no guy is without styled hair. I guess even for their daily routines such as going to buy lunch or groceries is a opportunity for them to dress up and experiment. And try different stuff.
Furthermore I guess in Singapore theres too many unspoken rules to dressing, norms we have to conform to. So EVERYONE conforms, and in the end we all look the same. I guess there no such rule actually exists, and everyone does their best to add and accessorize and for us its a real visual feast. :)
Oh well.. But then again, it's just good 'scenery' i guess..
Then again, in terms of urban planning, Singapore still reigns.. Technically. Taiwan, everything is more cluttered and unorganised, and the streets are definitely less clean. But it's also where shopowners have less restrictions to 'zhng' their shops and expand within their own space. There's a lot more personality when it comes to coffeeshops and normal retail places and its not always just the same few brands in the different shopping centres.
The street food is definitely a lot less healthy and clean. But wayyy more delicious XD.
That being said...
There's still really no place like home :D
